Superstar Chiranjeevi said on Wednesday he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was in home quarantine. The 66-year-old actor took to Twitter and informed his fans that he was experiencing “mild symptoms” following his COVID diagnosis.

“Dear All, Despite all precautions, I tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms last night and am quarantining at home. I ask anyone who has come into contact with me in the past days of getting tested as well. Can’t wait to see you soon,” Chiranjeevi tweeted.

On the work front, the Hyderabad-based star was preparing for the release of his latest ‘Acharya’ but the film was postponed due to rising coronavirus cases across the country.

Directed by Koratala Siva, the Telugu action drama was set to hit theaters nationwide on February 4. According to Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday, India recorded 2,85,914 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,00 85,116.
