Rapper-singer Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar are finally divorced. And according to reports, Honey has paid Rs 1 crore in alimony for the divorce settlement.
In 2021, Shalini accused Honey and her family of breaking her mentally and emotionally. She also accused him of domestic violence and claimed she had evidence to prove it in court.
Honey Singh released a statement after the accusations and called them “false and malicious”. He also asked fans not to jump to conclusions and said, “Allegations are subject to proof.” In a lengthy statement, the singer wrote, “I have never issued a public statement or press release in the past despite harsh criticism for my lyrics, speculation about my health, and generally negative media coverage. However , I see no merit in maintaining a studied silence this time because some of the allegations have been directed against my family, my elderly parents and my younger sister who supported me during very difficult and trying times and who make up my world. The allegations are cynical and defamatory (sic) in nature.”
He added: “I have been associated with the industry for over 15 years and have worked with artists and musicians across the country. Everyone knows about my relationship with my wife, who has been an integral part of my team for over a decade now and has always accompanied me to my shoots, events and meetings. I strongly refute all allegations but will not comment further as the case is pending before the Court of Justice.
