Lata Mangeshkar’s condition has deteriorated again and she is now in critical condition, according to a statement from her doctor.

Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar, who was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai early last month after testing positive for COVID-19, is still in intensive care and on a ventilator, the news agency reported. ANI.

She recovered from COVID-19 and pneumonia on January 30, reports NDTV.

Considered one of the greatest playback singers in Indian cinema, Mangeshkar began her career at the age of 13 in 1942 and has sung over 30,000 songs in various Indian languages.

During her career spanning over seven decades, she was the voice behind various memorable tracks such as ‘Ajeeb dastan hai ye’, ‘Pyar kiya to darna kya’, ‘Neela asman so gaya’ and ‘Tere liye’among others.

The singer – known as the Melody Queen of India – has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award, as well as several National Film Awards. She is also a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour.
